Hey Friends, let us tell you more about what our support/advocacy group offers!
What We Will Work Together To Do
Support Group Aspects
Create a safe environment that allows everyone to express themselves freely
Focus on becoming comfortable in your own skin with a scar
Ease the stress one may have going through their post or pre-transplant journeys
Answer any questions they may have
Share scholarship opportunities for transplant recipients
Make lifelong friendships with other transplant recipients across the United States
And So Much More!
Advocacy Aspects
Better our communication skills by being guest speakers for organizations and communities across the country
Work in unison with our state Donate A Life organizations to further advocate for organ donation
Work with our state/city hospitals to share our stories and the importance of organ donation
Create videos that kids can watch in the hospital or before a procedure to ease their nerves
Create online books that explain organ donation to kids
And So Much More!
Note: Members are allowed to join this group just for the support group aspect, and participate in the advocacy aspect, if they desire.
How We Will Meet You:
Our group will be held online via zoom, and we will keep in touch with our new friends through the Band App. (When you sign up, you will receive the information for both.)
Disclaimer: The members are from various ethnic, socio-economic, and other backgrounds. There is reasonable assurance that no child will be discriminated against, bullied, or otherwise harmed during any group interaction. The members know they are not healthcare professionals and therefore do not offer advice or opinions that could contradict a members’ healthcare provider. The members keep their interaction to strictly being supportive and a peer ear.
